How do I need to defrost?
In order to prepare your fish recipe, you need to defrost the product properly; otherwise its flavor, texture and consistency might suffer changes. The defrosting process is critical to maintain its quality.
The correct process involves leaving the product in a container inside the fridge for enough time so that the ice melts completely. Defrosting by using the microwave at a low power or using a water bath are also other possibilities. In the case of the latter, the fish must not touch the water, so the fish must be well protected to avoid any direct contact.
Defrosting at room temperature is not recommended due to nutritional loss and risk of poisoning caused by multiplication of bacteria.
