Learn how to start running
Do you want to start moving and start running? Follow our recommendations to have a successful start.
| If it’s been a long time since you haven’t practiced any sport, getting back on track will be hard. You will feel sore. But don’t give up, be consistent. You will feel the progression soon enough and you will start to feel the results in about two months. Set yourself to work out three times a week, and once you are used to it, you will be able to increase workout frequency.
| Listen to your body: The body needs a period of adjustment, so don’t go for a one-hour run on the first day. You can play with the recovery time, running time and the total running distance. You will progressively gain stamina. You can start walking for a few minutes, then running for another few minutes, doing five or six series.
| The pace must be comfortable: During your first running days, you should go slowly. You will be able to run faster with time, you don’t want to get an injury on the first day.
| Don’t forget to stretch before and after the run during 5 or 10 minutes. Stretching is very important because it’s method of prevention against injuries.
| Choose optimal running shoes: Running is free but a good pair of running shoes is essential and expensive. Don’t watch your finances, invest in a good pair.
